Wild parsnip leaf, Mason County, MI, July 2009 Wild parsnip has yellow umbels, and compound toothed leaves. The juice of broken stems, especially when flowering, can cause severe skin burns in the presence of sunlight (phytophotodermatitis). However, the roots can be eaten- this is actually the common garden parsnip. |
