Family Sapindaceae
goldenrain tree fruits

leaves and fruits of goldenrain tree, Henry County, OH, August 2012
These pods have a pink tinge, which is not unusual. There are four species in this genus, all commonly called goldenrain tree. All are native to Asia, but are planted as ornamentals. They may escape and are considered invasive in some areas. They have toothed compound leaves.
