Fallopia baldschuanica,
Russian vine, mile-a-minute vine

Family Polygonaceae
Russian vine, mile-a-minute vine

Flowers and seed cases of the Russian vine or mile-a-minute vine, Manistee County, MI, October 2012
Note the swollen joints, typical of knotweeds. The dainty white flowers have 5 parts, and a winged, 3-part seed case. This climbing vine is native to Asia, but is planted as an ornamental. There is some concern about its becoming invasive, since it grows extremely fast.
