Eastern gray tree frog
Eastern Gray Tree Frog, Mason County, MI, April, 2012
also called Common Tree Frog, or Tetraploid Gray Tree Frog. This amphibian can change color from nearly white to black, to blend into its background (note the similarity to tree bark), but much more slowly than a chameleon. Skin is moist and sticky. Without genetic testing, only distinguishable from Cope's Gray Tree Frog, Hyla chrysoscelis, by its call.
